Nebraska hopes to create more jobs by building roads

(NTV) -- Nebraska.tv reports that due in large part to the state's new $450 million infrastructure fund, approved by the governor and Legislature this year, many Nebraska communities could soon see an economic boost. The story quotes Kyle Schneweis, director of the Nebraska Department of Roads as saying, "Transportation affects the economy. Our goal is to grow the state's economy through infrastructure investment." The article points out that "the new initiative follows the Build Nebraska Act (of 2011)," which is estimated to generate an additional $60 million to $70 million a year for roads in Nebraska.
