The Chamber

The Butler County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors represent a cross-section of our community. They work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization and the future of our county. Board members serve three-year terms and new members are elected each fall at the quarterly membership luncheon to replace outgoing board members. Candidates are nominated by Chamber member businesses and must receive majority vote of the membership to be elected to the board.

  • Erin Hotovy was born and raised in David City and graduated from Aquinas Catholic. In October 2014 he moved home to open David City Ace Hardware. Prior to, Hotovy lived in Lincoln, working for Walgreens in Corporate Purchasing and Store Management. Hotovy’s wife, Melissa, is an activities aide at David Place. They have two daughters: Ainsley (13) and Addison (2). Hotovy also serves on the Butler County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, is on the Thorpe Opera House Board of Directors and is a volunteer for the Nebraska Democratic Party.

  • Kirsten Husmann is a native of Wood River, Nebraska. After receiving her bachelor of science degree from Bellevue University in Healthcare Administration, she began her career at Union Bank & Trust in April of 2012. In 2010, she moved to David City and currently serves as Branch Manager/Ag Loan Officer for Union Bank & Trust. Kirsten also serves as the Financial Secretary for Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City. Her husband, Eric, owns his own business, H2 Equipment and together they have three sons: Bentley (7), Jase (4), and Levi (2).

  • Kory Kuhlman is a Financial Adivisor for Edward Jones in David City. He has his wife Kasey live on an acreage northwest of David City where they raise their three kids: Addison (9), Chase (7), and Will (2). Kuhlman and Kasey are both natives of the area. He is a graduate of David City High School and went on to get Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Kuhlman began is career in finance with Ameritrade in Omaha before moving back to the area. He has worked as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones for the past ten years.

  • Todd DeWispelare
    Todd DeWispelare

    Todd is a native of Butler County, and grew up on a farm near Octavia, producing corn and soybeans. He is a graduate of David City Aquinas High School, and received his degree in Ag Business and Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He currently sits on the Butler County Chamber Board of Directors and belongs to Marietta Presentation Catholic Church. Todd and his wife Kandi have 3 children: Camden (8), Kollyns (3), and Kenzie (3 months). They reside on an acreage just East of Rising City.Todd joined the Bank of the Valley team on November 5th 2018, and is based in the David City Branch location after previously working for First National Bank of Omaha for 12 years as Lead Lender in David City.

  • Mark Kirby
    Mark Kirby

    Mark has been lifelong resident of Butler County. He graduated from David City Aquinas in 1987. He has worked for Butler Public Power District since 1991 and became General Manager in March of 2016. Served on the David City, City Council from 1998-2006. Member of the Breakers Basketball Board from 2003-2010 and was a School Board member from 2013-2016.

  • Nolan Samek

    Nolan Samek was born and raised in Surprise and graduated from Rising City High School. Following high school, Nolan graduated from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in History. Nolan began his career with Performance Dodge of Lincoln in 2005, and in 2009 joined US Bank in Lincoln as a personal banker. In 2012 Nolan moved to David City to become branch manager with US Bank in Columbus. In 2015 Nolan joined the David City US Bank branch as Ag/Commercial Lender and Market President. He was a member of the Columbus Next Generation Kiwanis and serves on the Butler County Chamber Ambassadors, including one year as President. Nolan and his wife Jessica live outside David City and have three children, Emma, Willa, and Leo.
